Ford Motor Company Limited of Eagle Way, Brentwood, Essex, CM13 3BW, England, UK ("Ford") and Chariot Transit UK Limited of Eagle Way, Brentwood, Essex, CM13 3BW, England, UK ("Chariot UK") (together "we" or "our") collect personal data through the telematics in the Chariot transit ("Vehicle"). This Privacy Policy explains why we collect the data and what we do with it.
We are undertaking a programme which involves (i) the provision of fleet management services by Ford to Chariot UK (the "Services"), and (ii) the collection of information about the ways in which light commercial vehicles are driven, in order to analyse aspects of driving behaviour and vehicle usage and their effect on the surrounding environment and further existing knowledge of this subject matter (the "Programme").
The Vehicle you drive will be fitted with a plug-in device ("PID") and GPS vehicle tracking technology, which collects various types of information regarding the state of the Vehicle and how it is driven. This may include information about the Vehicle’s location, driving route, mileage, vehicle speed and acceleration, braking conditions, steering angle, engine parameters, diagnostic codes and associated vehicle status, seat belt usage information, and details of any accidents or substantially similar information. The collected information may also include the unique vehicle registration mark ("VRM") and vehicle identification number ("VIN") of the Vehicle.
The Vehicle may also be fitted with additional vehicle and/or environmental sensors or you may be provided with a device and/or mobile application to collect further information and test product features. We will inform you about the equipment/sensors fitted to your Vehicle and, if necessary, obtain your consent to the use of the information collected from them.
We may ask you to provide your contact details so that we can communicate with you about the Programme.
We also collect any information you share with us during any interviews or workshops, in particular regarding your driving experiences and information related to your use of the vehicle.
